Manea Experience

This is a 75-minute multi-sensory storytelling journey located at Hokianga Harbour Drive, Opononi. You’ll engage with Māori mythology, particularly the legendary explorer Kupe, through visual arts, taonga (ancestral treasures), film, performance and interactive elements within a specially designed cultural centre. Guests learn about the founding stories of Aotearoa and the significance of Hokianga in Māori tradition. The experience combines history, art and immersive engagement — a soulful way to connect with Māori culture.

Footprints Waipoua Twilight Encounter

Footprints Waipoua is an experience which invites ākonga to join in an intimate and spiritual encounter through the Waipoua Forest. Our majestic Kauri trees have stood silently for thousands of years witnessing the passing of time.  Every tour starts and ends with a karakia out of respect for our atua Māori (Māori gods). During the tour ākonga will connect with the elements and learn of the relationship that we as a people have with nature. Our kaimahi (educators, guides) are descendants of this beautiful land will lead ākonga through a thought provoking, informative, educational experience. This will be sprinkled with humorous banter, stories, legends and spine tingling waiata (songs) and moteatea (chants) which will tell of the significance these environments have for our people, spiritually, mentally and physically.

Cancellation Policy

General Terms and Conditions:

1.      50% refund for bookings cancelled 24hrs prior to your booking, contact must be made by 12.00pm - day before booking.

2.      100% refund for bookings cancelled 48hrs prior to booking, contact must be made by 12.00pm - 2 days before booking.

3.      There is no refund offered for cancellations made on the same day.
